Identifiers

The HolAzAutó Basic data → Identifiers module maintains the tokens (tags, RFID keys, cards, PIN codes) used for vehicle identification and assigns them to users. The HolAzAutó Identifiers screen contains two tabs: the Identifiers list and the Unknown tokens list, where tokens detected by vehicles but not yet registered appear.

Before using the Identifiers menu item of the Basic data module, it is worth reading the driver identification chapter, because the HolAzAutó Identifiers module maintains the tokens of the identification process described there. This chapter describes only the Identifiers function.

Identifiers

The HolAzAutó Identifiers module was created to keep the electronic identifiers of the tokens used for vehicle identification registered and manageable for the users as well.

Columns of the list

The HolAzAutó Identifiers list table displays the following data:

Token types

The HolAzAutó Identifiers module knows the following identifier (token) types:

Token type Description Programmable?
Dallas key One-wire (1-Wire) Dallas/iButton key detected by the vehicle's identifier reader Yes
RFID RFID key or card detected by the vehicle's RFID reader Yes
Other ID card Other ID card read by the vehicle Yes
PIN Personal identification number (PIN) used by the driver to identify himself/herself Yes
Driver ID card Tachograph driver card; the HolAzAutó system creates it based on the card's identification events No (created automatically by the system)
HolAzAutó mobile app Identifier generated by the HolAzAutó mobile application; created automatically by the system No (created automatically by the system)
Ignored A token that the fleet manager does not want to handle as an identifier; the HolAzAutó system ignores it in the identification process Yes

A programmable identifier is one that the user can create and enter manually in the HolAzAutó Identifiers module (Dallas key, RFID, Other ID card, PIN). The non-programmable types (Driver ID card, HolAzAutó mobile app) are created automatically by the HolAzAutó system during identification events, so they do not need to be – and cannot be – entered manually.

Action buttons

Action buttons

The action buttons are located above the table. With them you can add a new identifier to the list, filter the queries, create query templates and run them, and export the identifiers in Excel (XLSX) format.

Creating a new identifier

New identifier button

Clicking the + button allows you to create a new identifier, which you can assign to users later. In the HolAzAutó Identifiers editor window you have to fill in the following fields:

Creating an RFID identifier

It is important to paste the token value (for example the RFID received by e-mail) into the field accurately, preferably by copying it to the clipboard instead of typing it manually, to rule out typos. The RFID tokens are registered mostly by the service provider: the new RFIDs are registered in the HolAzAutó system before they are put into use, so in most cases the customer has nothing to do with registering new RFIDs. Manual registration is needed when the token is to be registered on the customer side. The token value and type cannot be modified after creation.

Readable token (decoded value)

For certain token types (PIN, Other ID card), the HolAzAutó system also shows the Readable token field next to the raw token, containing the decoded, human-readable value of the token. This field appears only when the decoded value differs from the raw token value, and it is read-only.

Pairing to a user

In the HolAzAutó Identifiers editor window you can assign the token to a user in the Pairing panel. The pairing table shows the user, the e-mail address, and the start and end dates of the pairing. A token can have only one active (open) pairing at a time; to close it, click the trash icon to set the end date, which terminates the pairing.

Modification

Edit button

Clicking the pencil icon in the rows of the table allows you to modify the data belonging to the given token, and to assign the user to the token here as well.

You cannot change the token value and the token type afterwards, but you can still change the name and the company.

Edit window

If the identifier is not yet assigned to a user, you can do it here; if there is an active pairing, you can see it at the bottom of the window and terminate it with the trash icon. After that, the end date appears and the trash icon disappears, meaning the pairing has ended.

Terminating a pairing

Search button

Clicking the magnifier button allows you to filter among the identifiers, making it easier to find the required token.

Search window

The search window slides in from the left, where you can filter by sequence number, name, identifier, company, user or deleted status. The user is selected using the usual drop-down list.

Filter by user

With the Assigned field, if it is set to “no”, you can list the free tokens, making it easier to find the tokens that are still available.

Start search

Clicking the orange magnifier starts the query, and the trash can deletes the filter conditions.

Columns

Columns button

With the Columns button next to the search button you can create query templates, which you can run later with a single click.

Column configuration

In the query template field you can name the template, and in the column list you can set the visibility of each column by checking or unchecking the boxes below the Visible label. If a yellow check mark is shown in the box, the column appears in the table.

Save

With the save as new button you can save the settings as a new template; the save button only runs it, but does not save it among the query templates.

Query templates

Query templates button

Clicking the gear button opens the query templates. In the window sliding in from the right you can see the list of query templates. On the left the name of the template is shown, on the right the action buttons are located. The triangle button runs the query, the pencil icon modifies it, and the trash can deletes the unwanted templates.

Query templates Query templates list

The template that is currently running does not display a trash icon; to delete it too, run another template first, then you can delete it with the trash can.

Export

Export button

Clicking the export button exports the table in Excel (.xlsx) format, so you can also keep track of your identifiers in an Excel spreadsheet. Clicking the button downloads the file immediately, which you can then view.

Unknown tokens

The Unknown tokens tab of the HolAzAutó Identifiers module collects the tokens detected by the vehicles but not yet registered in the HolAzAutó Identifiers registry. From here, with a single click you can create the official identifier from them, view their events, recalculate the affected devices, or delete them.

The Unknown tokens tab shows the tokens that were detected by the device installed in the vehicle (for example an RFID or Dallas reader), but no official identifier has been created for them yet in the HolAzAutó system. The HolAzAutó system temporarily records the unrecognized tokens (by default for 7 days) so that the fleet manager can decide what to do with them.

The columns of the list: the event sequence number, the token value, the token type (if it can be recognized), the related token identifier, user, company, licence plate, and the event timestamp.

The following actions are available next to the rows:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

? Where can I find the HolAzAutó Identifiers module?

: The HolAzAutó Identifiers module can be found under Basic data → Identifiers. The page has two tabs: the Identifiers list and the Unknown tokens list.

? What token types exist in the HolAzAutó system?

: The HolAzAutó Identifiers module knows seven types: Dallas key, RFID, Other ID card, PIN, Driver ID card, HolAzAutó mobile app and Ignored. Dallas key, RFID, Other ID card and PIN are programmable (can be created manually); the Driver ID card and the HolAzAutó mobile app identifier are created automatically by the system.

? What is the „Unknown tokens” tab on the HolAzAutó Identifiers page?

: The Unknown tokens tab lists the tokens detected by the vehicles but not yet registered as official identifiers. From here you can save them as identifiers, view their events, recalculate the affected devices, or delete the entry.

? Can I modify the token value or type of a HolAzAutó identifier afterwards?

: No. In the HolAzAutó Identifiers module the token value and type cannot be modified after creation; however, the name and the company can still be edited with the pencil icon.

? What does the „Readable token” field mean in the HolAzAutó Identifiers module?

: The Readable token shows the decoded, human-readable value of the token (for example for PIN or Other ID card types). The field is read-only and appears only when the decoded value differs from the raw token value.
