Tracking
The Tracking function of the HolAzAutó mobile application uses the location data of the user's mobile device to follow the position of the device; the prerequisites of use are the contract granting the right, the creation and pairing of a virtual device with a QR code or a numeric code, and the granting of the permission to use the location data.
Our application ensures the operation of the tracking function by using the location data of the user's mobile device. In accordance with the currently valid general data protection rules, the user has to give consent to the use of the location data for this purpose.
Since our service replaces the use of a GPS device, this solution brings several advantages: you do not have to buy a device, there is no maintenance and repair cost, and being a mobile solution, any vehicle or person can be followed at any time.
What gave rise to the feature?
Traditional vehicle tracking requires the purchase, installation and maintenance of GPS devices, which means significant cost and administration for a fleet. The HolAzAutó Tracking function uses the driver's mobile phone location data to replace the tracking device, so any vehicle or person can be followed without physical GPS hardware.
What concrete business benefit does using it provide?
With the HolAzAutó Tracking function you do not have to buy GPS devices, and there is no installation, maintenance or repair cost either. As the solution is tied to the mobile phone, tracking can be flexibly reassigned: the tracking application can be assigned to any vehicle or person at any time.
What are the drawbacks of not using it?
Without the Tracking function, tracking vehicles and persons can only be solved with physical GPS devices, which involves device purchase, installation and maintenance costs, and relocating the devices is also time-consuming. Without the mobile-based solution, tracking cannot be easily reassigned to another vehicle or person.
Prerequisites of using the function
Administrative prerequisite
Since the use of the tracking function of the HolAzAutó application depends on rights, the administrative prerequisite is the conclusion of the contract granting the right. When concluding the contract, you receive the function rights necessary for operating the function; as a result, the menu item becomes available in the mobile application.
Technical prerequisite
When opening the function, the screen that loads requests device pairing; this is the technical prerequisite of the use.
The virtual device to be paired must be created in the web application, in the devices submenu of the basic data menu, by tapping the + button above the top left corner of the list.
Only those users who have concluded the contract for the use of the tracking function can create a virtual device.
By tapping the button next to the virtual devices in the list, the information necessary for the pairing appears, i.e. the QR code and the six-digit numeric code.
In the application, on the pairing screen, tap Scan QR code; after granting the permission to use the camera, scan the displayed QR code.
During the scan the application automatically fills in the pairing code; after this tap the Pair button.
Granting the permission to use the location data
On the screen appearing after the device pairing you can find four panels. On the upper panel you can switch on the coordinate sending service, by tapping the ones below you can grant the use of the location data of your device, and the bottom one shows the unique code of the device.
By tapping the permission panel, we guide you through the procedure of granting the location data.
After tapping the panel, the application displays a dialog window informing you that the function needs the use of the location data.
Choosing the OK option, first you can grant the permission for use while the application is being used.
Then the application requests the permanent location data permission, which also ensures the proper operation of the tracking function when the application runs in the background.
Once you have granted the necessary permissions, activate the coordinate sending. Then the detailed information of the tracking function appears:
- the state of the service (switched off or on),
- the unique code of the device,
- the distance covered,
- coordinates and address,
- the time of the last measurement.
If you switch on the service before granting the location data permission, we also guide you through the above-described granting procedure.
The location panel draws attention to the fact that location services must be switched on for the operation of the function; by tapping it, the application navigates to the settings of the device, where you can do this.
After activating the tracking service, the position of your device appears on the map view of the current locations within a few minutes.
