Task tracking
The HolAzAutó Task tracking is a special type of the custom registers that combines a task-type register with the map interface of the current locations: the tasks can be followed in a list and on a map at the same time. Task tracking is available from the Registration management → Task tracking item of the main menu.
The operation of the custom registers, the related workflows and the other rule systems (language versions, layouts, notification rules, field-level restrictions and different profiles) are described in detail in the following help chapters:
This chapter describes the Task tracking register type in detail. The custom registers presented in the related chapters above allow the classic, filterable, sortable list-based data sheet usage. Task tracking is a hybrid view: it combines a task-type custom register with the current locations map surface, so the tasks planned for a given day can be followed not only in a filterable list, but also on a map, e.g. the locations of the repairs planned for the day.
Preparation, planning and design
To display a task-tracking custom register efficiently on the combined (table-map) Task tracking surface, consider the following important aspects when designing the register and the workflow:
- The register must contain a system-level base data field suitable for tracking (device, person or vehicle) whose position and movement can be seen on the map; set this field as the tracking field in the register definition.
- If one or more address-type fields are relevant for the register (e.g. the place of a customer visit), set them in the address-type fields option.
- In the workflow definition assigned to the register, set a colour for the workflow elements so that the current status is clear at a glance in the display.
The Task tracking function
The Task tracking function is available from the main menu, Registration management → Task tracking. After opening it, the current data of the most recently used register is loaded.
Next to the list items, on the left edge, a coloured strip indicates the current workflow status of the item. The functions detailed below are available from the pictogram button bar in the table header, from the icons on the selected table row, and from the right-click context menu of the objects on the map.
View options
With the button symbolised by an arrow of variable direction on the right side of the table header, you can change the ratio of the table and the map surface. By default the ratio is 30%-70%; clicking the arrow pointing to the right changes it to 60%-40%.
Definitions
The second icon from the right in the table header (three horizontal lines) opens a sidebar sliding in from the right, which lists the names of all task-tracking registers. Clicking a register displays its data in the table and on the map.
Settings
The settings function is available from the gear icon in the table header. Clicking the icon opens a sidebar sliding in from the right, where the filters and layouts described in the Using custom registers chapter are available.
Reset filters
The filters available in the settings function can be reset to the default with the arrow icon pointing back into itself in the table header, so every running (not closed) item of the register is displayed again.
Refresh list
The refresh function supports multi-user use. If several users use the same register at the same time, the data visible on the screen of a user may change in the background due to the work of other users. Clicking the icon with the two arrows facing each other fetches the modified data and updates both the list and the map display.
Selection and clearing the selection
If you click a tracked object (e.g. a vehicle) on the map surface, the list immediately displays only the data filtered to that object. You can clear the filter by clicking the icon marked with an x in the table header.
Vehicle data sheet
If you right-click the tracked object (vehicle) on the map surface, a context menu appears. Selecting Vehicle data sheet opens a popup window with the most important vehicle information.
Locations
From the same context menu, selecting Past locations opens a Past routes sidebar where you can continue the examination in the Past locations, Evaluation or Current locations function without re-filtering the investigated vehicle from the whole range. The selected functions open in separate browser tabs for more efficient work.
Displaying the register data
The place-type object also appears on the map surface with an icon matching the workflow colour; right-clicking it opens a context menu whose single Data sheet item displays the register item data of the place in a popup window, from where the Zoom and Edit functions can also be started.
Zoom on the map
Two further functions are available on the table rows. Hovering the cursor over a row shows two pictogram buttons. Clicking the target-icon button positions the map so that the vehicle affected by the register item appears in the centre.
Edit
To modify the data of a row, click the left icon to navigate to the workflow-based editor screen, where you can view and modify the data. After the operation, use the Task tracking breadcrumb control at the top of the data sheet to navigate back to the Task tracking surface.
